Operation Red Nose Kicks off Friday and Saturday

It will be the first night of Operation Red Nose in Williams Lake.

Community safety coordinator Dave Dickson, says this marks the 13th year and that he will be hitting the community’s roads and highways with fellow volunteers to provide a simple and accessible way for citizens to get home safe.

“You know the positive thing about it is we get people that have gone out and had a good time home safely and that’s what it’s about,” he said.

“Getting people who have had a few drinks away from the wheel and having somebody take their car home safely. It’s a win-win for everybody.”

Dickson says riders will have the opportunity to donate once again this year to the Cariboo-Chilcotin Gymnastics, Williams Lake Skating Club, Cariboo-Chilcotin Youth Fiddle Society, and Blue Fins.

Operation Red Nose runs Friday and Saturday from 9 pm until 3 am.
