The Pacific Blue Cross is running a special contest to distribute seventy-five thousand dollars between five different charities and the Canim Lake Band is one of the finalists.
It was critical to get proper representation from across the province in the finalist charities says Heidi Worthington, the Senior Vice President at Pacific Blue Cross:
“What we wanted to do is make sure it was reflective of British Columbia. So, we wanted to make sure we had some participation from different communities – and a good example is up in Canim Lake – to make sure we’re including charities from the lower mainland but from a much broader area.”
The Canim Lake Band is guaranteed to receive at least five thousand dollars for making the final-five and could get up to fifty-thousand dollars should they win the vote.
Voting goes until December 6th, with those interesting in voting able to do so online here.
