100 Mile Fire Rescue Responded To A Vehicle Fire Near The Begbie Summit

100 Mile Fire Rescue responded to a vehicle fire early this (Monday) afternoon that closed Highway 97 at Davis Lake Road.

Fire Chief Roger Hollander said they received a call at approximately 1:30 from RCMP who requested their service near the Begbie Summit.

“And upon our arrival members observed a vehicle that was fully involved,” Hollander said, “Our crews were able to extinguish the fire without incident and the lone occupant, the driver, was able to get out of the vehicle without injury.”

Hollander added that the cause of the fire appears to be electrically related given 100 Mile Fire Rescue’s investigation at the time.
