Fire Destroys Shop In Quesnel

There was a structure fire in Quesnel on Saturday night.
Fire Chief Sylvain Gauthier says they were called to the Autow towing business on Juniper Road just before 7 o’clock.
Upon arrival Gauthier says the Duty Officer noticed smoke and flames coming out of the workshop at the back of the main residence and as soon as he moved into the yard he noticed that the entire inside of the workshop was fully involved.
Gauthier says no one was hurt but the workshop suffered heavy damage and the heavy duty tow truck that was inside is a write-off.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
21 members of Quesnel’s Volunteer Fire Department responded to the blaze.
Gauthier says there were multiple 9-1-1 calls informing them of the fire.
