Pacific Blue Cross is asking British Columbians to Share the Care and help give $75,000 to five organizations improving health and well-being across the province in part of their 75th anniversary.
Canim Lake Band Councillor and also Administrator of the Canim Lake Family Wellness Centre, Barb Geurtsen shares with us what the funds would mean to them.
“I think we would just continue with what we’re doing,” she said.
“You know doing the cultural and the traditional activities, doing the hunting and fishing camps, and just bringing together the community and families and continuing to revitalize the Shuswap traditional art forms and cultural aspect.”
Five finalists, including the Band which has received past funding from Pacific Blue Cross, were voted and chosen for a storytelling video campaign by members of their Health Foundation.
