BC Hydro Doubles their Fast Charging Station in Quesnel

Fast charging stations are now more accessible in Quesnel as they receive a new charging unit.

BC Hydro will now have two charging stations in the City, which will be a 100 kilowatt unit, instead of the original 50 kilowatt.

In a release from BC Hydro, they say that transportation accounts for around 40 per cent of greenhouse gas emissions in BC.

They also revealed the Electrification Plan which will give initiatives for residents, businesses and industries to switch to hydroelectricity to help reduce carbon emissions.

The first charging station in Quesnel opened in January 2020 in the Extra Foods parking lot, with the new unit implemented on November 21st.

The new charging station will allow drivers to add 100 kilometres of driving to an average electric vehicle in roughly 10 minutes.

BC Hydro looks to add another 325 charging units throughout BC in the next 5 years.
