Tony Goulet re-elected as Chair of Quesnel’s Board of Education

Quesnel’s Board of Education will have a familiar face at the head of the Trustee table.

Tony Goulet has been re-elected as Board Chair for a third term.

He says it’s always an honour.

“I always look at it as it’s coming from your peers. I take it as an honor to be nominated, I always do. If somebody nominates me for something they’re saying they have trust and they have faith in you.’

New Trustee Lisa Boudreau was elected Vice Chair at last night’s meeting.

Goulet says he is pleased with that choice.

“Absolutely. I think her experience on QDPAC and her experience in schools, her skills are there and she’ll be great in that position.”

The new Board is a mix of old and new, something Goulet feels will make for a good mix.

“It’s good to have a combination of both because then you have some experience and then you have some inexperience. At our meeting too, some inexperience shows just trying to get their feet on the process and the policies and the procedures so, it’ll take a bit but I think it will great, it will be a good Board.”

Other successful nominations from last night were Cheri Maisonneuve being elected as the Board representative for the BC Public School Employers’ Association, and
Julie-Anne Runge taking on the BC School Trustee Association role for the Board.
