A Woman with Outstanding warrants in Williams Lake arrested in Bella Coola

On Monday November 7th, Bella Coola RCMP seized cash and drugs following a traffic stop.

RCMP say the traffic stop, conducted on Highway 20 in Hagensborg, occurred because they believed the driver was unlicensed.

The adult man was arrested for driving while prohibited, and police say the passenger had ties with the RCMP in the Cariboo.

“The passenger, an adult woman had outstanding warrants from Surrey, Williams Lake and Kamloops.” says Corporal Madonna Saunderson, North District Media Relations.

“The woman was released on an appearance notice to deal with the outstanding warrants.”

Saunderson says the investigation is ongoing.

She says the man was also released, but could face charges for drug possession and trafficking.
