Over 13-Hundred Customers In The Dark In Parts Of The Cariboo

Strong winds and heavy rain have left several thousand BC Hydro customers in parts of the province, including the Cariboo, without power this morning.

BC Hydro is reporting currently in the South Cariboo there are 1,289 customers in the dark, and in Williams Lake, there are 94 customers without power.

Strong winds will continue which are expected to result in additional outages.

BC Hydro reminds the public if they come across a line down, assume it to be a live power line, stay back 10 meters or 33 feet, and to call 9-1-1.

As of 8:45 this morning about 12-thousand customers were without power.
