McLeod Named Opposition Critic for Indigenous Affairs

A new government and a new interim leader means a new job for the Conservative Member of Parliament for the Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo riding

It was announced today that Cathy McLeod is the new Official Opposition Critic for Indigenous Affairs.

McLeod feels that she’s qualified for the position and hopes to make a difference:

Given my background in terms of I have worked for and with aboriginal communities in the past and also being from British Columbia, hopefully I will be in the unique position of being able to make a real difference.

This is McLeod’s first appointment to the top spot in a portfolio after previously serving twice as a Parliamentary secretary with the Ministry of National Revenue and the Ministry of Labour.
