Former Lakecity Resident To Be Temporary Interim CAO With The Cariboo Regional District

Brain Carruthers has accepted the temporary position of interim Chief Administrative Officer while the Cariboo Regional District continues its formal recruitment process to fill this role.

The CRD made that announcement today (October 19).

Cariboo Regional District Chair Margo Wagner said the interim CAO position will be for 6 months and his start date will be December 2nd.

“Mr. Carruthers brings a wealth of expertise, specifically with Regional Districts,” Wagner said in a release, “this experience will enable him to assist Deputy CAO, Ms. Johnston, in the day-to-day running of the CRD and Board activities.”

Wagner added aside from splitting these CAO duties, Carruthers will also take the time to evaluate the efficiency of the CRD, assist us in strategic planning in January, and lend his support in the recruitment of a permanent CAO.

Former Cariboo Regional District CAO, John Maclean, announced back in September 26 that he was leaving to assume a new role as CAO with the Columbia Shuswap Regional District.
