Quesnel stabbing suspect pleads guilty

The accused in a stabbing incident in Quesnel has pleaded guilty to one of two charges laid against him.

25-year old Joseph Kendall Oester pleaded guilty to a charge of assault causing bodily harm and is due back in court on December 13th for a pre-sentence report.

He was also facing one count of assault with a weapon.

The charges are in connection with an incident back in February.

Quesnel RCMP were called to the 100 block of Carson Avenue where they discovered that a man had been stabbed in a dwelling unit.

Police said at the time that the victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The showcase for the 2025 Quesnel Ambassador Leadership Program was held last night. The four candidates gave speeches and presentations on their skills and lives. The event was MC'd by the previous years Quesnel Ambassadors winners. The final decision on who will be the 2025 Quesnel Ambassador will be made tonight at 7 pm at Echen Hall.
