Wildfire South Of Puntzi Lake Listed As Under Control

BC Wildfire Service continues to work on the fire burning approximately 17 kilometers south of Puntzi Lake.

“Today (October 17), we have heavy equipment and 40 firefighters who are completing mop up and fuel control around the area,” Fire Information Officer Hanna Harris said, “The current status of the fire is that it remains 248 hectares in size and is now listed as under control. I think now being under control that starting tomorrow there will just be a small patrol team on it.”

Harris also gave an update on other wildfires in the Cariboo Fire Center.

“There are 5 under control and 2 are being held in the Williams Lake and Horsefly area,  in the 100 Mile Zone there is 1 and in the Quesnel Zone there is 1, both of which are under control.”
