Fun Will be Par For The Course in Williams Lake

Yesterday (October 13th) was the Boitanio Disc Golf Course grand opening.

This course will be the first of its kind in the Cariboo region with a total of 18 holes. It will also have beginner and advanced tee boxes for the community to enjoy.

“This weekend we’re finishing installing all of the baskets, and streamlining where we may still have dump grind and stuff like that.” says Stacey Miranda, Director of Community Services for the City of Williams Lake.

As for a map of the course, they can be found at Boitanio Park.

As for what’s needed to play, there are four different discs can be used on the course, which include a distance driver, fairway driver, midrange, and putter.

Miranda also noted that one of the biggest parts about this, is that it’s an inexpensive social atmosphere. Anybody and everybody should be able to do this.

The city also hopes to have the course open to the public year round.
