Residents in Mcleese Lake can Finally use their Own Recycling Depot

Mcleese Lake residents can now recycle their items, thanks to the new recycling depot.

Even though the recycling depot itself is new, Mcleese lake originally had one prior. The one before was stolen back in October 2021.

This left residents of Mcleese Lake, and the surrounding areas to find another way to recycle.

“Last weekend we were able to get everything in place, so the recycling depot is now at the Mcleese Lake transfer station on beaver lake road.” says Steve Forseth, Cariboo Regional District Director for Area D.

“Signage is up and it’s available for the communities of Mcleese Lake, Tyee Lake, and South Creek Valley to drop off their recycling.”

Forseth added that it took around a year to locate and purchase a new shipping container to replace the depot.

He also noted that the recycling depot will be open on weekends from 12:00pm until 4:00pm, but will change to 12:00pm until 3:00pm on October 1st.
