Atlantic Canada Storm No Longer a Hurricane

Hurricane Fiona has now been downgraded to a post tropical storm due to cold water, and land.

The storm is expected to not only weaken, but linger above Atlantic Canada through today and tomorrow.

“It was a hurricane up until yesterday, but last night hurricane Fiona transitioned into a post tropical storm, but maintained the strength of a category two hurricane just until it made landfall.” says Carmen Hartt, Meteorologist at the Canadian Hurricane Centre.

“When it made landfall, it was close to a category one hurricane in terms of intensity.”

As to whether the storm will have any affects to the weather in the Cariboo, Hartt says there wont be any impact.

She added that conditions are expected to persist through today and tomorrow
