Boil Water Advisory Issued for Forest Grove

The Cariboo Regional District (CRD) has advised water customers on the Forest Grove water system to boil their water until further notice.

The advisory was issued due to sampling showing the presence of coliform.

Coliform is a bacteria that can cause an upset stomach, vomiting, fever or diarrhea. Children and elderly are more at risk from this bacteria.

The CRD is working towards finding the source of contamination and fix the problem.

Some precautionary steps that can be taken include using bottled water or boiled water for consumption, brushing teeth, dishwashing, and making ice. If you choose to boil water, it must come to a rolling boil for one minute, then cool to an appropriate temperature.

The advisory will remain in effect until the CRD and Interior Health are confident the water is safe. Once satisfactory results are reported, customers will then be notified.

For more information on boil water advisories, you can visit the CRD’s website here.
