RCMP Seeking Help in Locating Missing Williams Lake Man

Williams Lake RCMP are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing person that has not been seen in over a month.

On Tuesday, September 13, 2022, Williams Lake RCMP received a report of missing person Michael Vareschi.

Police received information that Michael and his partner made their way to Kamloops, however this has not been confirmed.

His mother has reported him missing saying it is out of character for him to not contact her.

Michael Thomas Vareschi is described as:

  • Indigenous male
  • 36 years old
  • Fair complexion
  • Slender build
  • 5’ 11
  • 187 lbs
  • Black shoulder length hair
  • Brown eyes
  • Black Goatee

BCGEU strike headed to mediation

The B.C. General Employees' Union (BCGEU) and the provincial government have agreed to enter non-binding mediation, expected to begin as soon as possible. Vince Ready and Amanda Rogers are to be the mediators facilitating the process. The BCGEU said in a statement, it's members will still maintain picket lines across the province while mediation proceeds.
