Boil Water Advisory Issued For Alexis Creek Water System Residents

A Boil Water Advisory is in effect immediately for all water customers on the Alexis Creek Water System.

The Cariboo Regional District said the advisory is due to a chlorine pump failure and that they are currently working to have this equipment replaced as soon as possible.

Interior Health has advised that the Boil Water Advisory be put in place for those residents as a precaution.

The boil water advisory includes several precautionary steps.

These include using purchased bottled water or boiled water for drinking, brushing teeth, dish washing, preparing foods, and making ice.

Water should come to a rolling boil for one minute, then cool to an appropriate temperature before using.

The Advisory will remain in effect until the chlorine pump has been replaced and the Cariboo Regional District and Interior Health are confident the water is safe.

Residents on the Alexis Creek water system will be notified when the advisory is lifted.
