Quesnel Shooting Incident Lands PG Man in Jail

A Prince George man, charged in connection with a shooting incident in Quesnel, has pled guilty to one of the six charges levelled against him.

Eric John Vining pled guilty to a charge of Discharging a Firearm with intent to Wound or Disfigure.

Several others, such as Attempted Murder, were stayed.

Vining was sentenced to 189 days in jail and 12 months probation and also received a lifetime firearms prohibition.

The charges stem from an incident back in June of 2013 at a residence in the West Fraser Drive area.

RCMP say Vining, armed with a handgun, entered the residence and demanded money before firing the weapon.

Police say it was extremely fortunate that no one was hurt.
