Highway 97 North of Lac La Hache was home to some excitement Saturday as a wood chip trailer caught fire necessitating a response from emergency services.
Luckily the driver was able to detach his rear trailer after it ignited a mile north of Maze Lake Road.
RCMP Corporal Brian Lam suggests the brakes were the source and explains how easily how the incident could have gone bad.
Ministry of Forestry officials were also on hand and dealt with the grass-fires started by the incident.
