A month after losing the decision in a Silver Gloves match, Forest Grove raised fighter Ken Huber was defeated in a gold gloves match
Huber praised his opponent from both fights, 23 year old Vancouver-based Samuel King Moses:
“He’s me 10 years ago. He’s 23 and coming onto the scene strong. I haven’t boxed a guy like that… well, ever.”
Overconfidence killed, says Huber who describes the events leading to a loss:
“It was an awesome fight, very exciting. I had him in the first round, I thought I had him stopped. I got a little overconfident and he capitalized. He was calm and relaxed and just waited for me and picked his counter shots accordingly.”
Despite losing the decisions, Huber feels good and still plans to go pro – possibly as early as January.
