The North Cariboo Post Secondary Education Council has a new chair.
Doug Larsen, who used to be the Regional Director for the College of New Caledonia at the Quesnel campus before some changes were made, is taking on this new role.
He says the reason he accepted the position is that he is passionate about post secondary education and that he feels it is important to the vitality of the community, especially for youth who’s families can’t afford to send them away for school.
Larsen says he thinks it is vital that the community has a voice in the direction of post-secondary education in Quesnel.
He takes over from Mary Glassford, the long-time chair of PSEC, who recently stepped down.
