Taurid Meteor Shower Peaks for Thursday-Friday Viewings

Weather permitting, Cariboo Residents should be able to keep eyes to the skies tonight to see something special at the annual Taurids Meteor shower reaches its peak.

The visual display put on by the Taurids is something special says Brett Anderson, a Senior Meteorologist with Accu-Weather

The one thing that makes this meteor shower fairly special is that even though there aren’t a lot of meteors per hour – about five to ten per hour – the meteors you do see are far far brighter than the ones you see in other showers.

Described as a “fireball in the sky,” the meteor shower can be seen tonight and tomorrow – best after midnight – in the east-south-east.
