New Information Released On Potentially Dangerous Parole Violator In Quesnel

More information has been released about a parole violator, described as a high risk sex offender, who has now twice been seen in the Quesnel area.

46-year old Gerald McLean was just seen near the Walmart on Monday morning and that was followed by a sighting in the Bouchie Lake area back in early August.

So what happened in between ?

Corporal Dave Tyreman with North District RCMP says he was apparently working on a local farm for room and board under the alias of Rick Wilson.

Tyreman says they believe he may also have left the area briefly on a couple of occasions.

He says the farm owners eventually asked him to leave when they saw a poster of him.

Quesnel RCMP are putting up updated posters around town and Tyreman says anyone who sees McLean should not approach him but instead call 9-1-1.

McLean, convicted of sexually assaulting a child in 2000 and a teenager in 1995, is wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant after walking away from a halfway house in Vancouver.
