Last Halloween Season for Costume Corner

October 31st will be your last day to purchase your Halloween costume from a shop that has served the Cariboo for 28 years.

Colleen Prest, owner and also perhaps better known as the Queen of Costume Corner says she and her husband will be relocating to Kelowna to be closer to family.

“Well we have lived here since 1982, so that’s over 30 years and what I will miss most is all the wonderful friends that I’ve made here.”

As for future plans, Prest remained good humored.

“But I have managed to browbeat my husband into letting me take a few of my favorite costumes with us-well actually it’s more than a few,” she said.

“I just couldn’t stand to leave all my babies behind and when I’m not playing in the costume room, I plan to be drinking beer out on our pontoon boat.”

Prest has operated Costume Corner since 2003 and says it’s difficult to say what her most memorable moment is.

“Well about the costume business, I actually thought about that question and there really are too much to just single one out. I’ve always said that this business is the most fun you can have without taking your clothes off.”

Although things are getting a little picked over, Prest says they still have lots to choose from to look your ghoulish best.

Located on 1160 Dixon Rd in Williams Lake, Costume Corner will be open from 10 am until 6.
