RCMP Issue Halloween Safety Tips

RCMP would like to remind everyone to stay safe on Halloween.

Children, parents, drivers, and party-goers are all encouraged to have fun but to be extra careful and behave responsibly.

Children are encouraged to:

– Wear a light-colored or bright costume, reflective tape or armbands to heighten visibility.
– Make sure the costume that is properly fitted to reduce the chance of tripping on it.
– Select a costume that is constructed from flame-retardant materials.
– Make sure your vision is not restricted. Consider completing your costume with makeup not masks.

RCMP say they will be increasing patrols on Halloween and encourage any partygoers to plan ahead for their transportation needs.  As well, drivers are reminded to be extra cautious as there will be an increase in the number of ghouls and goblins walking the streets that night.

More Halloween safety tips are available through the BC RCMP website.
