Community Arts Council of Williams Lake takes up new residence

The Community Arts Council of Williams Lake (CACWL) is still excited about their new residence nearly one month after having settled in the Central Cariboo Arts Centre.

Coordinator Venta Rutkauskas says their brand new central office is next door to the existing Central Cariboo Arts and Culture Society (CCACS) offices.

“It’s a really nice concept to have all the arts in one building and a central location for the public…personally the brainstorm that goes on between Brandon, Leah, and myself-it’s a happening place.”

Rutkauskas says she’s hoping the move will help clarify the roles of both organizations in the community.

“First of all we’re easily found now; it’s not a confusing thing where one person might be looking afield to find the other, we’re all in one area,” she said.

“We’ve already been chatting about what each of our organizations does and simplifying that for the public.”

The CACWL joins the Williams Lake Spinners, Weavers, and Fibre Artists’ Guild, the Cariboo Potters’ Guild, and the Cariboo Arts Society, as well as the CCACS at the Centre.
