2014 BC Aboriginal Business Awards Presented

Two Cariboo businesses received Outstanding Achievement at the sixth annual BC Aboriginal Business Awards in Vancouver yesterday.

The 2014 BC Aboriginal Business Awards were announced by Premier Christy Clark and Keith Mitchell, Chair of the BC Achievement Foundation.

Bell-E Acres Recreation of Williams Lake and Northern Star Adventures of Quesnel were both honored for their achievements and received Outstanding Business Achievement for a one to two person enterprise.

Clark says entrepreneurial spirit is alive and growing in BC’s aboriginal communities.

She added that the success of Aboriginal entrepreneurs plays a crucial role in strengthening First Nations communities and the economy as a whole.

A total of 16 aboriginal businesses, entrepreneurs, joint ventures, and community-owned enterprises were recognized and celebrated the gala award ceremony.

More information about the awards can be found online at the foundation’s website.
