Quesnel Dominates Running Zones

It was a dominating performance by Quesnel runners at the Cross Country Running Zone Championships in Prince George.

Correlieu won both the Senior Girls and Senior Boys team titles.

Starting off with the girls, there were four Quesnel runners out of the top five led by Olivia Baptiste and Olivia Moody in first and second.

Kyra Teetzen and Avery Drew were 4th and 5th respectively.

Cole Dinsdale was the gold medalist in the Senior boys race.

He was more than a minute clear of 2nd place finisher Brandon Balbirnie from Peter Skene Ogden in 100 Mile House.

Getting back to Correlieu….Dane Jacobsen was 5th.

Scott Sargent, still only in Grade 10, was 9th and the other member of the team Jared Hamelin was 10th.

All of those competitors qualified for the Provincials which will take place on November 7th in Vancouver.

Several students from Quesnel Junior School also did well.

Aleesha Bautista was 2nd out of all the Junior Girls just 8 seconds out of first while Bazil Spencer was 4th out of the Junior Boys.

Jett McCall (in photo above) was 12th overall but first in grade 8 girls and Halle Cada was 5th in grade 8 girls.

Matt Letoria, 11th out of the Juniors, was first out of the grade 8 boys.

Teammate Christopher Henderson was 4th out of the grade 8 boys.
