Paradise Cinemas Vaccine Clinics a success

Organizer Massimo Calabrese virtually joined Williams Lake City Council Tuesday night to provide an update on the Vaccine Clinics at the Paradise Cinemas.

According to Calabrese’s report to City Council, 752 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered at the Cinema’s clinics as of October 10th. His report says 6.9% of the City’s population has been vaccinated at the clinics.

When the clinics started in August, an estimated 70% of administered doses were first doses, but that has levelled off to around 50% at recent clinics.

Calabrese’s report reads “according to Interior Health, the drop-in clinics at Paradise Cinemas in Williams Lake have been the most successful drop-in clinics across the entire Interior Health authority throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.”

During Tuesday’s Council meeting, Calabrese called on City Council to take action to encourage the public to get vaccinated.
