RCMP Staff Sergeant Richard Weseen says police responded to a suspicious occurrence in an apartment building on Doherty Drive in West Quesnel at around 6-15 on Wednesday (Oct 13) morning.
“While searching the building the police located a man who had suffered serious injuries. The investigation revealed three men forced entry into the building and assaulted the victim. Two of the three men were identified by police and located and arrested within hours of the assault.”
Weseen says 32-year old Eric Joseph Heidemann was arrested at a residence on West Fraser Road after a brief foot pursuit.
He says the second suspect, Jordan Brent Cooper, 31 years old was also arrested at a residence on West Fraser Road without incident.
Weseen says police are currently processing crime scenes related to the event and one firearm has been located during this investigation.

Both suspects remain in custody.
Heidemann is due back in court tomorrow, while Cooper’s next court appearance is set for October 19th.
Weseen says police believe this was a targeted attack and that the general public is not at risk.
Meanwhile, the search for a third suspect continues.
