The 100 Mile House Wranglers edged the Princeton Posse in a close contest Friday night.
The Wranglers open the first-period scoring with two unassisted goals from Jace Meyers and Nathan Bohmer. Princeton came right back with two goals of their own from Gavin McIntosh (PP goal, assists: Carson Bigras, Anmol Garcha) and Anmol Carcha (assists, Gavin McIntosh, Jake McCulley). Trever Sanderson picked up another goal for the Wranglers with an assist from Ethan Sanders in the first.
The second period was all Princeton. The Posse scored two goals in the frame, the first coming from Jaden Fodchuk unassisted. Anmol Garcha picked up his second goal of the game, with an assist from Curtis Gould.
Rory McNabb opened the third period with a goal for the Wranglers to tie the game, with Nathan Bohmer picking up the assist. Later in the frame, Garth Rasmussen gave the Wranglers the lead, with Chase Vancoughnett-Lafluer picking up the assist.
The Posse pulled goaltender Darby Tipton in the final minute in an attempt to tie the game, but the Wranglers held on to win 5-4.
Only one powerplay goal was scored in the game, but players spent a lot of time in the penalty box. The Wranglers were penalized seven times for a total of 22 minutes, including a 10-minute misconduct for Tanner Hooper for head contact.
The Posse was in the box a lot as well, serving seven penalties for a total of 30 minutes. Tyler Rimstad of the Posse was given a 10-minute misconduct for head contact and Elijah Havers was given a 10-minute misconduct coinciding with a roughing penalty as well.
Wranglers Goaltender Casey Thompson stopped 49 of a whopping 53 shots in the win. Tipton stopped 22 of 27 shots for Princeton.
The Wranglers will be back on the ice with two games next weekend. The Wranglers will start their weekend in Chase with a Friday night (Oct. 15) matchup against the Heat, and will come home to host Kelowna Saturday night.
