Chance Of Flurries In Higher Elevations Early Sunday Morning

There will be more traffic than usual on Highways throughout the Cariboo and the province this Thanksgiving long weekend.

With that in mind Armel Castellan, Warning Preparedness Meteorologist with Environment Canada, said traveling in the early hours of Sunday morning could have its challenges with rain forecasted overnight Saturday and a low of zero.

“The chance of rain comes in that 2 to 4 am period and the freezing levels are dropping during that time. They’re going to be hanging out closer to 15 to 2 thousand meters but they will drop and that’s when there is a chance of flurries particularly on the Begbie Summit, and even more so when you go toward the Coquihalla and Rogers Pass.”

For the remainder of the Thanksgiving Day weekend, Castellan said things clear up in the Cariboo.

Sunday will be sunny, high of 9, and for Monday sunny and 8.
