NDP Spokesperson for Tourism in Likely

The NDP Spokesperson for Tourism is in Likely this afternoon speaking to business owners.

David Eby says although the provincial Liberals have said they will support businesses affected by the tailings pond breach, many are feeling the turn of a blind eye instead.

Eby says a recent $50,000 grant from the provincial Liberals to the Likely Chamber of Commerce is not enough.

Eby says he spoke to a tourism operator who told him internet users researching the area only find results pertaining to the breach.

He says he will bring the information he receives today from Likely community members and businesses back to Victoria to hold the Liberals to account and make sure businesses are supported.
