Wranglers shut out in preseason matchup against Chase Heat

The 100 Mile House Wranglers’ second pre-season contest saw plenty of scoring on one side, but none on the other.

The Chase Heat took the 5-0 win over the Wranglers in Chase Friday night.

Aiden Brown of the Heat opened the scoring in the first period, with Lucas Ouellette picking up his first of three assists on the night.

Brayden Haskell and Garrett Martin extended the Heat’s lead to 3 in the second, with assists from Ouellette and Braeden Huth.

The Heat piled on in the third, with Matthew Poole with a setup from Bhavin Serown, and Matteo Bordin picked up the final goal of the night on Ouellette’s third assist of the game.

Goaltending duties for the Wranglers were split in the preseason contest, Cort Castonguay started the game in foal, and stopped 16 of the 18 shots he faced. Casey Thompson came in nearly halfway through the second period and stopped 17 of 20 shots faced.

The Wranglers will start their regular season at home against the Heat on October 2nd.
