Lone Butte community says thank you to local fire fighters

Money was raised for the Deka Lake & District Volunteer Fire Department and Interlakes Volunteer Fire Department at an auction in Lone Butte back on August 28, in front of The Country Pedlar.

“It was a great turnout. Many people donated all sorts of things. The Artists in the community were fantastic.” said Owner Shelly Durand.

There was plenty of oil paintings, pictures, a bunch of gravel, and many little toys for kids to play with that were being auctioned off.

“About 40 people donated to the cause and bought something, as well we had a man match every dollar that was donated.”

Durand says both fire departments received a cheque of $7,105 dollars.

“I chose those two fire Departments because I live on Deka Lake and I know when the Deka Lake Fire Department needs assistance they call Interlakes Fire Department.”
Durand says she and the community are very thankful for what they did with the Deka Lake fire.
