Interior Roads Prepare for Winter Season

It’s not just vehicle owners gearing up for winter driving conditions.

Interior Roads Operations Manager,  Sam McCarthy says they too are getting winter prepared.

“Going over all of our winter procedures, meeting with all of our staff, providing new training-more training, implementing all of our winter shifts.”

McCarthy says Interior Roads will be fully staffed with three new trucks including a tri-drive with an eleven-foot wing to remove even more snow from public roads by November 1st.

He says they’ll be stopping motorists in between the former CJ’s Grill and Williams Lake Tourism Discovery Centre on Oct. 30 in part of the Shift into Winter Campaign.

“And we’re going to be passing out just little gift packs full of ice scrapers, key-chains, and just information on winter tires, and winter readiness with your vehicles, what you should pack, and just being prepared for winter.”

Vehicle owners throughout the province are required by law to have winter tires until March 31st.
