One arrested following attempted car theft in the South Cariboo

100 Mile House RCMP responded to a call on North Bonaparte Road near Bridge Lake last week (Friday).

The RCMP said an unknown man had just assaulted someone after trying to take their vehicle.

Police believed this could have been the same suspect from an earlier complaint.

The Police Dog Service (PDS) team from Williams Lake attended and the RCMP Helicopter Air 3 out of Prince George also attended to help as the man had fled the scene.

The car owner was found and treated for minor injuries.

Police say the PDS and Air 3 along with some ground RCMP units found a 32-year-old Cache Creek man who was arrested for the offense based on the description provided by the victim.

100 Mile Hose RCMP transported the man to Detachment where, after contacting Legal Counsel, he provided a warned statement to Police where he admitted to attempting to steal the vehicle and attempting to steal the Quad from another day.

RCMP says after the initial investigation was complete, the man was released on an Undertaking with conditions including no go within 100km of 100 Mile House.
