Dragon Lake Elementary and Dog Creek Elementary-Junior Secondary will be receiving funding from the province for accessible playgrounds.
These two Cariboo schools, along with 58 others in the province, will be receiving $165,000 from the province’s Playground Equipment Program.
The funding for this year’s program received a one-time $5-million boost compared to previous years, allowing for a $40,000 increase for each project for a total of $165,000.
According to the province, the money will go towards accessible components, such as ground cover, ramps, and transfer platforms that connect to the play structure. The new playgrounds will be built over the next year.
