Local 100 Mile store supports those protesting vaccination passports

Exeter Sporting goods closed its doors yesterday (Thursday) for the protest that took place.

“We want to show our support for the nurses who are losing their jobs because they have to get vaccinated and don’t want to.” said owner Jude Dione.

Dione says he and his employees are definitely pro-choice for the vaccine.

“You know you should be able to choose what you want to inject in your body and that’s what I feel anyway.”

He says it seemed like they were the only business to close in support of the protest.

“I have my own free will and I did it on my own to support those guys.  Down in Vancouver, there were thousands and there were probably 80 people just here down in 100 Mile on Tuesday.”

Dione says he didn’t have any trouble with his customers understanding why they were closed.

“I had 15 phone calls on my phone so some were trying to get in but most of my customers understand or are on the same page as I am.”

He says he got fairly good support from people, except for one or two who disagreed.
