There are no more “Wildfires of Note” in the Cariboo Fire Centre

The Flat Lake Wildfire is now listed as ‘Under Control’ by the BC Wildfire Service.

Wildfire Information Officer Madison Smith says that as of Wednesday morning, the Flat Lake Wildfire is no longer considered a Wildfire of Note.

“We do still have a number of crews on the bigger fires throughout the Cariboo Fire Centre,” Smith says, “We do have personnel assessing the fires every day.”

She says some of the personnel who were working on the Flat Lake Wildfire have been dispatched to other areas of British Columbia to assist with firefighting efforts.

Smith says there are 24 active wildfires in the Cariboo Fire Centre. 11 are ‘Under Control’, four are ‘Being Held’, and ten are ‘Out of Control’.
