Wranglers gearing up for the hockey season

Recruiting is the name of the game for the 100 Mile House Wranglers.

“We need 20 players since we have two returning vets, but we stumbled upon a goalie and I mean that in a positive way. He was from Okotoks and recently moved to Clinton.” said coach Dale Hladun.

Some players have lots of choices as to which camps to attend.

“I’ve been to a lot of camps and the BC Hockey League is still holding camps right now. In fact, they are holding a top 40 camp in Salmon Arm right now,” said Hladun.

The Wranglers are just over a couple of weeks away from starting their camp.

“We’re gonna run our main camp September 17 but I’m not gonna bring kids in now, not until September 16,” stated Hladun.

The Wranglers have scrapped planned exhibition games against Dawson Creek and Princeton.

“With the Interior Health rules and regulations as well as there being a limited number of fans, we couldn’t afford the cost,” said Hladun.

The team does plan one pre-season game on September 19 but is not sure at this time how many fans can attend.
