Cariboo residents will have a lot of choices in the Federal Election

The deadline for candidates to enter the 2021 Federal Election came and went this afternoon at 2 o’clock our time.

There are half a dozen candidates in Cariboo-Prince George.

Conservative candidate Tood Doherty, the incumbent, will be joined on the ballot by Audrey McKinnon of the NDP, Garth Frizzel of the Liberal Party, Dr. Leigh Haunsinger-Chang will be representing the Green Party, Jeremy Gustafson the People’s Party of Canada, and Henry Thiessen the Christian Heritage Party of Canada.

The Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo riding will have seven choices.

Jesse McCormick will be carrying the Liberal flag, Frank Caputo is running for the Conservatives, Iain Currie is the Green Party candidate, Bill Sundu is the nominee for the NDP, Corally Delwo is representing the People’s Party of Canada, and both Wayne Allan and Bob O’Brien are running as Independents.

Election day is Monday, September 20th.

Advanced voting is set for September 10th through the 14th.
