Quiet now but busy fire season in the Cariboo overall

There is now just one wildfire of note in the Cariboo.

Only the Flat Lake wildfire remains.

The Big Stick Lake fire has been removed from that list.

Control lines have now been established on the northwestern flank of the Flat Lake fire to the north of Gustafsen Lake, and on the north flank from Holden Lake to just north of Moose Valley Park.

The Flat Lake fire is still estimated at 74,194 hectares in size.

There are still 26 active wildfires in the Cariboo Fire Centre Region.

The totals for this year to date are 255 fires with more than 130 thousand hectares burned.
