First Nations Don’t Shed Tears For Harper

You can add the Tribal Chair of the Tsilhqot’in National Government to the list of people that are glad to see Steven Harper gone.

Chief Joe Alphonse says the Conservative Government just wasn’t willing to work with First Nations.

He says they feel they can work with a Liberal Government.
Alphonse says he’s happy that Justin Trudeau has said they will immediately launch a national public inquiry into missing and murdered aboriginal women, although he says it is long overdue.

While the Cariboo-Prince George riding is still represented by the Conservatives, Alphonse does say that Todd Doherty is one Conservative that he will be able to work with.

He says we need a strong voice for our area, something which Alphonse says was lacking under Dick Harris, and he feels Doherty will do that and can be trusted.

Something going on in the Cariboo you think people should know about?
