Williams Lake man facing charges for break and enter and assault on homeowner

A 26-year old Williams Lake man has now been charged in connection with an incident where a man was allegedly assaulted in his home.

Harvey Shields is facing one count each of Break and Enter and Assault with a Weapon.

He will be back in court on Wednesday.

Shields was arrested on Sept. 30.

Williams Lake RCMP say they were called to a residence in the 700 block of Midnight Drive in the early morning hours just after 1 o’clock.

Police say it appears a homeowner let two males in and that he was then assaulted.

RCMP say they believe this was a targetted attack and that it could be drug-related.

The victim was not seriously hurt.
