Advanced voting up roughly 45 per cent in the Cariboo

Elections Canada has released the voter turnout numbers for the advanced polls that were held over the long weekend.

The Cariboo ridings, like most across Canada, were very busy.

14,224 people voted early in the Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo riding which of course includes 100 Mile House.

That is up substantially from 6,505 in 2011 and just 3,381 in 2008 although those were years where there were just three days of advanced polls as opposed to four.

9,891 people voted in Cariboo-Prince George between Friday and Monday.

That riding, of course, includes Quesnel and Williams Lake and that is up by about 45 percent over 2011 on a per day basis.
