The Federal Government’s abandoned Long Gun registry has left a legacy of confusion for gun owners in the Cariboo and across the country.
Conservative MP for Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo Cathy McLeod says she supports the new Common Sense Firearms Licensing Act legislation that was recently tabled in the House of Commons.
McLeod says the new regulations would streamline the process for gun owners.
McLeod says the government is committed to a balanced approach that protects Canadians while reducing the burden on law-abiding hunters, farmers, and sharp-shooters.
MP’s will begin debating the new legislation this week.
