First Nations Fashionista Heads to LA

Despite failing to reach her fundraising goal, a First Nations Fashion Designer is headed to fashion week in Los Angeles after all.

The cost of going was pretty high says Jill Setah who attempted to defray the cost with crowdfunding but ultimately fell short

I was trying to raise funds to head to LA, but its a lot of work for me to do it on my own with my family and, in the end, I just wasn’t able to do it.

But a call this weekend from the John Norman Lindley Foundation changed everything for Setah

The foundation is called the John Norman Lindley Foundation, and they funded the *whole* thing… so I’m headed out to LA.

Setah, who is a member of the Chilcotin First Nation – located about an hour west of Williams Lake – will have ten of her designed pieces on the runway this Sunday (October 18th) at 6 pm.
